Hey,

Sorry about the photo from last year. The internet cafe I'm at right now doesn't allow me to upload photos, but I don't have my camera on me anyways. I had beer on the plane and was jet lagged the first day but after that it was awesome. We've been seeing a lot of the city and doing a lot of things, biking a lot too. We don't know where we're going to go next, but we'll figure it out. We encountered some Choclate Vla, which was disgusting.

Here's a photo of us hanging out at Central a few weeks ago. So I'm off to Amsterdam again this year. I'm pretty excited about it because Nikola is coming again in addition of Marco and Alexa. Our flight leaves at 11:00 PM tonight. Over the next month I will be posting pictures and other things that we might feel is interesting.

I also have this URL set up as www.denmarphotography.net to make things easier. Look for an update in the next few days. But for now I got to get back to packing.

I think this was the very first shot I took in Poland about two hours in. Somewhere between Warsaw and Gdansk. I went across the road to pee, because I had only Canadian currency on me and you have to pay to use washrooms in most places in Europe. Enjoy~

As some of you have noticed the images don't link back to my flickr anymore and that the layout was changed for about six hours. The blog is still screwed up, but at least it's letting me update now. Everything should go back to normal soon.

I have a lot of TTC subway photos, not because I love to shoot in the subway It's just that when you spend about two hours on it everyday you have to find to fill time to make it go by faster. I love the footmarks on the ground in this one. Simplicity can be so great sometimes. Of course this is one of the older subways, they tend to look nicer anyways.

This is the film version of the Crystal Ball that I did. At least the setup for it. The composition for the final negatives actually changed. Because of the intense spot lighting the black background got blown out to white in order to get the correct exposure on the film plane of the camera. Enjoy~

Shot in the studio on 4x5 cameras yesterday. I decided to take a digital version and am really pleased with the result. The spoon is more of a technical thing than aesthetic. Studio shooting is amazing just due to the fact that you can control your lighting. Makes thins a hell of a lot easier.

I was shooting a project for school with straws and my cat came. I started shooting him and he didn't look into my lens so I made some weird sound and got his attention. This was shot last week in Dundas Square. I love the reflection off the table. I'm a sucker for reflections. I managed to get a pretty good exposure considering all the different light sources. The man stood there for about 8 seconds during the entire exposure. Late update I know, but I think the service is all back on track.

I shot this with my girlfriend while I was at the Eaton Centre the other day. They just put up the Christmas stuff, right on November 1st. They did it really quick. This was shot right beside the Apple store. Blogger has been giving me problems, I think it might have to do with the configuration or something so I'm going to look into it so I can update regularly. I might be shooting for Ryerson's Inpendent Newspaper, the Eyeopener, so we'll see what happens with that. Anyways, take care.

This was one of the first shots to come out of my 30D. I had to play with it at night without a tripod so I used a road blocker to get this. I love long exposures so much. Yes, it's back. After three months I decided to come back and start this thing up just for my own personal reasons. I decided to do a background as the first of the reposts so here it is. I love the colour in the sky but since it's the first photo in awhile, and there isn't much to say about it. Here's what I've been up to.

Three months at a glance:
-Went to Poland and came back.
-Started First Year at Ryerson for Photography
-350D was stolen, 30D is my new baby now.
-Published online and one in print.
-Photography awards from high school.
-Too many other little things to mention.

So everyday I'll try to put a photo on at midnight like before, but sometimes it might be the following day haha. I'll get back into the habbit, anyways, spread the word that this is going on again!

This was shot at Runnymede Station a couple of days ago. I can’t resist taking photos in the subways, it’s a great place to take photos. I also snapped a few of the train coming in but they were under exposed. The lights of the subway should of over exposed the shot. How wrong I was; lesson learnt. Before I get to a scene I try to figure out what the correct exposure would be, it’s a good way to get good at it. Night~

Well you can see the noise even after noise reductions in PS. I like this shot regardless so I decided to post it. Taken with a EF 75-300 so that might be why there is a lot of noise and gives you a reason not to pick up this lens. You can get a decent shot off from time to time. I wish I just bought my 350D body and got a better lens but what can you do. Anyways, enjoy~

Taken on the way up to Haunted Hill and not on the way back like last night’s update. I love playing with the reflection of the sunglasses, so when I saw what the hood of the car was doing in them I snapped. I was hard getting a decent exposure, even if the sky is blown out in this one I still enjoy it. I thought the HDRed version was too cluttered. Night~

I shot this one on the way back from Haunted Hill on the QEW. It was some spooky stuff, even though it was my third time it’s always fun to go. Pretty much the whole way back I was just snapping in the back trying to get a good exposure. This one was one of my favourite ones just because it was on a turn and a couple of cars were following us changing positions over the 30 seconds. Anyways I’m tired, night~

This is the same car as that ‘Old Dodge’ that I had a few days ago. Just above the wheel there was this switch and I had no clue what it did but the light was hitting it in an interesting way. I flicked a few different compositions because I was unsure of how to frame it and I got this. I love stark simplistic shots.

Shot from a TTC street car going westbound last Wednesday. I was just shooting everything I could out of the window and I actually got a couple of decent shots. This was one of them. There was a parrot on the street ledge on the way over but I didn’t get the shot. Anyways night~

Shot at the Distillery District at near Mill Street. I didn’t update the site last night because it was prom and I got home around 8:45 am and didn’t get up till almost 7 tonight. What can you do, a lot of people were with me last night and I had a lot of fun. I waited for McDonald’s to open for breakfast before taking the bus home. Anyways, night~

Accident on Lakeshore

On the way back from the Distillery District yesterday our streetcar was stopped because of an accident. After talking to one person I found out that it was a motorcycle accident hitting a car. The man on the ground weighs 320 pounds and was unconscious on the scene. There was a crowd gathering around as the medical staff raced to save his life. I watched for it on the news but I never heard anything. Anyways, drive safe~

Update: People have been questioning whether or not I should be posting these photos or not. I have not shown the man's identity at all, and will not out of respect. The accident is a horrible horrible thing, and maybe this photo can be a reminder to others to watch out for motorcyclists on the road. I did not interfere with any of the personnel and me taking photos does not lower the chance of his survival, it only raises awareness. Look what can happen on Lakeshore, a street that doesn't even have high speeds.

I decided to skip the afternoon to go shoot some flicks with Lindsay at the Distillery District. We had to achieve Saturday’s failed mission for photos. Anyways, the clouds were out so I got some great shots and there will be more to come in the coming days and weeks from there. I love the architecture there. It’s a city inside the city. I’ve had a really busy day but it’s been a lot of fun, I’ve done a lot. Anyways peas~

Again with the 75-300 one of the slowest lenses ever. You can still get some shots off with it though but anything past 200 starts to push it I find. I learnt that patience is something you need as a photographer. I always want to take pictures of things when I’m out there regardless but then I usually go back to get one with better lighting.
